The centre of the Lüneburger Heide Nature Park is the 169m high Wilseder Berg. From here you have a wonderful view over the landscape.
Purple heather carpets stretch for miles to the horizon, interspersed with the juniper bushes typical of the landscape. And with a little luck you will see a shepherd with his herd of Heidschnucken.
An old rule of thumb says:
The heath blooms from 08.08. to 09.09. of a year!
The historic old town centre of Lauenburg is absolutely worth seeing. Lovingly restored half-timbered houses are lined up in the Elbstraße.
In the southernmost city of Schleswig Holstein many small alleys are waiting to be discovered by you.
This bike tour is a real challenge. 43km lead you past tempting blue lakes and invites you to jump into the cool water especially in summer.
