From Brewer to a Creative Force Behind the Bar
How passion became professional growth
My name is Roman and I work as a bartender at Seminaris Hotels Hotel Nürnberg. For me, this profession is much more than just a job. Working behind the bar combines creativity, hospitality and direct interaction with people.
I especially enjoy experimenting with new drinks and flavour combinations. For me, this is the perfect way to bring in my own ideas and express creativity. It motivates me every time guests respond positively to my cocktails and concepts.
At the same time, Seminaris taught me how important ownership and creative freedom can be in everyday work life.
„At Seminaris, it’s not only the cocktail that is appreciated, but also the person behind it.“
Why creative freedom matters to me
At Seminaris Hotels, I experienced how valuable trust and creative freedom can be. It is not only about following routines, but also about trying new ideas and actively shaping the future together.
At the moment, I’m working on new bar concepts where I can contribute my own ideas and experiences. Exactly this kind of freedom motivates me to keep developing and exploring new perspectives.
One of my biggest challenges was taking responsibility for managing a hotel bar as a career changer. That experience showed me how important openness, willingness to learn and trust really are in everyday work life.

What collaboration means to me
Besides creativity, teamwork is what matters most to me. Working with my colleagues goes far beyond daily operations. We support one another, develop ideas together and create a positive atmosphere for both guests and the team.
Especially during stressful situations, I realise how important trust and collaboration truly are. That is exactly what creates a work culture where people can grow and feel motivated.
What I take from my learning journey
My time at Seminaris Hotels showed me how important creativity, ownership and openness are for personal growth.
I learned to embrace challenges, explore new ideas and continuously develop myself. Most importantly, I experienced how much becomes possible when people are trusted and encouraged to contribute their own ideas.
